Countries Nickname: Republic Dominicana

President of the country: Leonel Fernendez

·       The land area for this country is 18,680 square miles with the total area being about 18,815 square miles. It has a population of about 9,183,984 people.

·       The race/ethnicity percentage is about 16% white, 11% black, and 73% mixed.

·       The predominate language spoken is Spanish.

·       95% of the population is Roman Catholic.

·       Capital and largest city is Santo Domingo with an estimated 2,851,300 people.

·       The literacy rate is 85%.
